Hi Tyler, I needed a few days of reflection before I listened to episode 11. First I should tell you that I'm not an American. I'm listening to you in Birmingham, England, yes the original Birmingham - a world away from Alabama; that being said the wild west gunslinger Wyatt Earp's family came from down the road in the neighbouring town. That's the end of the similarities. I feel kind of impertinent for even commenting about the US election except for the fact that I have family that works for one of the famous American tech companies. I can tell you that even in Brexit -UK the US election result shocked me to the core; and I wasn't the only one. My friends in Germany , Sweden , Italy , Ireland and here in England are struggling to make sense of what from over here looks like a coup d'etat except without the bullets.
America doesn't look familiar to me anymore. It sounds as if your country doesn't feel familiar to you either. Thank you for this episode. I took comfort from hearing from you at this most difficult of times. What lies ahead I honestly don't know but please hold this thought from one of the greatest philosophers:
" You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think" - Winnie The Pooh.
God Bless The United States Of America.
